I drove the truck last night and when I went start it again to go home it clicked. I tried to turn it over a few times but all I got was a click. I walked home and left the truck.

I went to start it again after I got home and it clicked. I went to start it again and I just got a humming sound. I could use some guidance. i replaced the alternator last year and I guess this could be the starter because the lights still work.
Try jumping the starter solenoid to turn it over. Just use a pair jumper cables from one side to the other. If that does work it's the solenoid. If not make sure you battery cable ends are clean and tight and the battery has a good charge.
