today i was driving home and my transmission wouldnt shift into second untill i let off the gas and gave it time to shift. note that it went up to 30 in first before i could let off the gas to let it shift. its a 1998 ranger xlt long bed 2.0 v6. it also is only working in reverse sometimes. i cleaned the sensors and it worked for about 1/4 mile down the road and then started it again. a guy told me to replace the transmission pan filter and gasket because it may be clogged or the originall one which could be junk. so im going to do that tomorrow. in the mean time if any one has an idea on what it may be let me know please i really do not want to buy a new transmission
thanks and please please help
