Ford Ranger More than two decades ago, the Ford Ranger debuted as an answer to various compact pickup trucks being made available by Japanese automakers. The Ranger was cleanly styled and offered with a choice of a 6-foot or 7-foot bed. Ford boasted that the Ranger had more interior room than the best-selling imports and that 4-by-8-foot construction material could be carried in the bed.

Default Need Help Installing Cb Radio In 1997 Xlt Ranger

Hi everybody, I own a 1997 Ford Ranger XLT. I am wanting to get a cb radio installed but I have taken it to a couple different shops, and both places cant find a "good" place to install the actual radio. Literally, a place to fit the radio in the cab of the truck.

They recommend I go w/ a hand-held CB and then just buy an external speaker/jack.

If you all have any suggestions I would be forever greatful.

Thanks a lot!

you didn't mention wether or not this is a supercab truck, but was there a problem with putting the cb on the back wall between the front seats (above the jack and wheel wrench and below the window). I would probably put it there or if you are a non-smoker, down on the bottom of the dash where the ashtray goes.

I have a scanner mounted on the ceiling between the sun visors, made a bracket out of plumber strapping and used the sun visor scrws to attach it to the roof.
