Ford RangerMore than two decades ago, the Ford Ranger debuted as an answer to various compact pickup trucks being made available by Japanese automakers. The Ranger was cleanly styled and offered with a choice of a 6-foot or 7-foot bed. Ford boasted that the Ranger had more interior room than the best-selling imports and that 4-by-8-foot construction material could be carried in the bed.
after replacing my ICM i pulled the distributor and found missing teeth. i replaced the distributor then found out i still don't have any spark but i have power to everything-any idea's?
Check the voltage of your pick up assembly, it should change voltage as you turn the motor over. Also check the resistance of your coil wire. Should be around 80,000 Ω per foot. Check that the distributor is turning over and that a timing chain isn't broken. Inspect the cap and rotor and make sure that the termninals aren't broke or wore.

i have checked the ignition switch, icm, coil, wires, stator, and distributor. i made sure of TDC by removing the valve cover and checked for rocker movement on the other cylinders of which checked out ok. could this be a problem in the computer or do you think it could still be in the wiring harness?-bad ground, im stumped!
Watching the valves will get you close to tdc but not close enough. You need to pull the spark plug out of the number one cylinder, and verify that the piston is at TDC after the intake valve has closed on number one. (I bend over a close hanger and watch for it to peak as someone else cranks the motor over by hand). Then put your distributor in firing at #1. Right now the distribtor could be anywhere in ~180° of the right area (compression and powerstroke).
Are you sure you have spark at the plugs now that you've replaced the ignition module or is your timing so far off the motor won't run?

i had originally tried the wire in the cylinder, then went to remove the valve cover and lined up the timing on the harmonic balancer, so i sure that the timing is right, the problem is that there's no spark from the coil.
