Ford Sport Trac The Ford Explorer Sport Trac is a four-door, five-passenger, midsize pickup. It was unique when it first appeared in 2000, but today it must compete with midsize four-door pickups from every major player. Essentially a Ford Explorer with a pickup bed, the Sport Trac offers plenty of room inside for people and out back for cargo.

Did you have your car back to the dealer for the Cruise Control recall ?

Also, I believe cruise is done by the Powertrain Control Module. Most large auto parts stores will extract Diagnostic Trouble Codes for free.

I had a similar issue on an E150 and it turned out to be a bad brake switch. The brake lights worked fine, btw.

I actually didn't. The dealer had it under warranty. They were *this* close to replacing the GEM when the tech decided to actually use the repair manual flow chart. It led him to component by component pinpoint testing and he found the BOO was bad. He was really happy that he hadn't replaced the GEM...
