Ford Sport Trac The Ford Explorer Sport Trac is a four-door, five-passenger, midsize pickup. It was unique when it first appeared in 2000, but today it must compete with midsize four-door pickups from every major player. Essentially a Ford Explorer with a pickup bed, the Sport Trac offers plenty of room inside for people and out back for cargo.

Question blowing fuse 4 reverse lights as soon I shift in to Reverse

I have a 2002 Sport Trac 2wd 4.0L auto tans/w overdrive.
when I out the gear selector in reverse the fuse blows, I have check for bad wiring and all looks good, for reading some stuff on the Internet i think it might be digital transmission range sensor/ neutral safety switch, but I have no Idea how to check this part out. any suggestions? or could there be something else that I don't know about?

The first thing I would do would be to expose the rear tail light assy and look for pinched wires. Then remove the reverse light bulbs and retry with a new fuse. The wire color for the reverse lamps is Black/Pink. Follow this wire forward, looking for places that it might be shorting out. If the fuse still blows, crawl under trans to find range sensor switch and test/replace it.

Hey sorry it has taken be so long to get back on here.
I have tested every thing from the lights them selfs back to where the wires go in to the cab. I fond nothing I did note that when I unplugged the wiring harness for the rang finder that the ohm meter dropped when between the fuse connector, I do not know if that means anything on this truck or not.
Can you tell me how I can test the rang finder?
