2008 Taurus X headlight issues

Hello,

I reccieved my Taurus X about a month ago. I noticed that when driving at night out in the country without any streetlights I cannot see. I went to my local Ford dealer and he found that my right headlight is not spreading the beam but instead it remains focused like a laser, very sharp. The dealer has changed out the right assy two times and the problem remains. I have been to two dealers and at each the mechanic tells me that something is wrong. The beam on both sides should spread out, not remain tight. I am at my witts end and don't know where to turn. Any suggestions?

Have you compaired it to another Taurus same model and year?

I have to associates that have the same year and model car. They experence no problems with the headlight not lighting the road properly. I have compaired mine to a new X at the dealer and see the same results. The lighting cannot be correct. Two mechanics have said that it is not write.

id get something else anyways does the beam focus like that with brights on or off

The problem is more obvious when the beams are on low. The right side light has a very tight focus when you look at it as it falls on the ground. The left light is correct, the beam spreads out as it illuminates the ground. I now have a regional Ford rep coming to the Ford dealer to see the problem Monday. I expect a lot of double talk. They don't seem to want to fix the problem. I saw a commercial this past weekend that said the Ford quality was equal to Toyota's. I just don't see it in this car. Overall I really like the car. I am a loyal Ford man so this is disappointing to me.

What is a taurus x ?Is it a special model or option ?

It's a rebadged Freestyle..w/a new(obviously defective)frontend redesign.

I saw this post and took a look at the road at night. Using low beams the right light is definately focused to the right and is a sharp narrow beam. Tried with and without fog lights. Fogs fill in near the car but the concentrated spot remains a hot spot leavingt a lot of area on the right side very dim. Did you get anywhere with your dealer.? Any Ford techies here? Why can't they design lights the way they used to. To LIGHT UP THE ROAD IN FRONT OF YOU?
