Need Help. My dealership is not honoring my 2003 Ford Taurus.
Ford Taurus XThe Ford Taurus X, so named because it shares the same platform as the Ford Taurus, is a 7-passenger mid-size crossover SUV. The car is positioned between the 5-passenger mid-size Ford Edge and upcoming 7-passenger full-size Flex crossover SUV. The design of the Taurus X closely resembles that of its sibling, the Ford Edge, creating a family face for its crossover segment.
Need Help. My dealership is not honoring my 2003 Ford Taurus.
When I purchased my car in January 2004, I purchased a 60-month, 75,000 mile warranty. This was a used car with 18,124 miles so the warranty was for a "Used Plan" Service Contract Agreement which says, a) for used plan agreements on eligible Ford, Mercury and Lincoln Vehicles that have new vehicle limited warranty remaining at the time of the agreements purchased - This Agreement begins at the Signature Date & Signature Mileage and provides Coverage up to the earlier of: 1) The number of months you have purchased, or 2) the number of miles you have purchased, from the expiration of the new vehicle limited warranty, whichever limitation, Miles or Months, occurs first. As I said earlier, we purchased the 60-month warranty with 75,000 miles. My car now has 73,500 miles and the 60-months beginning on signature date was January 17, 2004. When I signed on the signature line it says, "I acknowledge that all coverage begins and ends as stated in the "When Your Agreement Begins and Ends/Coverage Costs" Section above, and my "signature date" was typed in the boxes. My dealership is not honoring this agreement. Ford is apparently not honoring this agreement. Can someone help me?
Some dealers won't honor warranty's issued by insurance companys. You didn't say if you took it back to the dealer you bought the warranty from. I found this out, because I bought my 01 tarus and warranty from one dealer and when I needed service I went to another ford dealer and was told that it wasn't a ford warrenty it was from a warranty insurance company and they didn't accept warrantys from that company, because they were hard to get them to authorize repairs. I ended up taking it back to the dealer I bought it from.
Yeah you got an aftermarket warranty. Lots of places wont honor them because they dictate a certain price they will pay. It is your job to verify before taking your car in for service that the place will honor your warranty otherwise the bill comes out of your pocket.
Go back to the dealer you bought the car from.
