1994 Taurus starts without difficulty runs then shuts off when driving down road. Will some times start right up other times need to wait a while. Have had some luck by changing fuses. However, benefit is not long term. Any suggestions. One mechanic had car for several weeks but nothing major noted. ??

Check the ignition switch. Try moving the ignition key slightly in either direction to see if it stalls. Had one on an 84 mercury that one end of switch separated. This problem will not show up on scan test. This allowed contacts to occasionally open.

I am having sort of the same problem on a 2004 and cannot seem to find out what to do.Let me know and I will let you know if that is ok with you as soon as one of us finds out .Thanks and God Bless You,Scatfish
