Jerk on acceleration

I just bought an 05 Freestyle AWD Limited with 71K.

I notice that during acceleration from stop, there is a slight "jerk" then eventually it smooths out. Anyone have any idea/clue what could be causing this?

On stop and go, I feel the jerk when accelerating and stopping. If I really really ease up pressing the gas pedal I don't quite feel it.

Any ideas is appreciated.
