Ford Taurus Along the way, Ford has made some 500 changes to the Taurus, changes that were already scheduled for the mid-cycle freshening of the Five Hundred. The general body shape of the new Taurus is the same as that of the previous Five Hundred, a large, front-wheel-drive family sedan, but almost everything else has changed for the better.

MAS can be pulled out of the housing and cleanned. The 2 screws that hold it to the housing are made to prevent them from being pull out, you just have to work on them. Once the screws are out, lift the MAS out of the housing very carefully and with a Q tip and alcohol, clean the spring sensor VERY CAREFULLY

yeah, they're usually held in there with "tamper-proof" torx screws (reg. torx screw w/ a "post" in the middle). you can buy bits to remove these. you can also get actual mass air flow sensor cleaner in a spray can to avoid touching the sensor wires at all. i've done it both ways, but like bertha said, be very careful with the wires if you do use alcohol and a q-tip. i'm actually not surprised the idiots at autozone didn't suggest the maf cleaner considering the code that they found. for the o2 sensor, there are ways to test it, just do a search. or you can just say hell with it and replace them. fixing those items should clear the air/fuel ratio code.

oh and for future refernce, if you have a problem, start your own thread instead of responding to a dead one.
