Ford Taurus Along the way, Ford has made some 500 changes to the Taurus, changes that were already scheduled for the mid-cycle freshening of the Five Hundred. The general body shape of the new Taurus is the same as that of the previous Five Hundred, a large, front-wheel-drive family sedan, but almost everything else has changed for the better.

Default 2000 Taurus SES-Headlights

Story:
Lost headlight on drivers side. I ran it to a garage because i had a high beam but no lo beam. They "fixed" the problem and now low beam and high beam work but are like candle power(really dim). I bought a Chilton's book and thier wiring diagrams are a little confusing for me.
Questions:
1. There are three wires on the socket...which is the ground?
2. Is it safe to ground the headlight directly to the battery?

I have already started messing with the wiring but have not lost original wiring that the garage performed. I am looking at the fuses under the hood and under the steering wheel today. I will get back on any progress.

Thanks for any help you can offer,

Vbuff (newbie under the hood)

Check the actual plug for burn marks or a loose connectiom.
