Ford Taurus Along the way, Ford has made some 500 changes to the Taurus, changes that were already scheduled for the mid-cycle freshening of the Five Hundred. The general body shape of the new Taurus is the same as that of the previous Five Hundred, a large, front-wheel-drive family sedan, but almost everything else has changed for the better.

For the best sound buy a new radio. Crutchfield: LCD TV, Car Audio, Home Theater, Speakers, Plasma TV will include all harness' and kits you need to install your radio for free.

what about the weird oval shape of the radio front, do they have something to make a regular shaped radio blend in? just curious, or else i suppose i could make one myself.

so there's nothing i can hook up to where the cd changer would normally hook up that i could plug into a regular cd player or ipod?

Something like this would be included. Trust me Crutchfield takes care of people. You might have to pay a little more for this kit but I am not sure.

Check on ebay. I found one for my '97 taurus there (trunk mount). I found the cd changer radio at my local junk yard . all taurus have the trunk changer wiring already just plug in.

Lightbulb Hardwired aux

You can do what I did and wire in an AUX port. I tapped into the wires for the tape player. I put a cassette in and it tries to draw audio from that but instead gets it from the headphone jack I wired in. The sound quality is very good and it will cost you a few connectors, a old pair of headphone and a few hours of time. If you need details instructions on it, message me. I ran the cable up through my back seat to my center console so I can plug in my MP3 player and use it through there. It's not fancy but it works.
