Ford Taurus Along the way, Ford has made some 500 changes to the Taurus, changes that were already scheduled for the mid-cycle freshening of the Five Hundred. The general body shape of the new Taurus is the same as that of the previous Five Hundred, a large, front-wheel-drive family sedan, but almost everything else has changed for the better.

Default 1996 Taurus - Rear caliper removal

Had to replace a stuck caliper, but half way through I've hit a snag. I CANNOT get the parking brake cable (or whatever it is) out of the caliper. I have it released from the spring mechanism, but can't get it out of the guide hole (or whatever you call it).

I've removed the small clip that holds it in place. Is there anything I'm missing? Anything I can try to do to free it up? I'm frustrated and ready to throw in the towel.
