Taurus 2001, windshield wipers stopped mid-wipe!

Hi guys. I have a 2001 Taurus SE in good working conditions. While cleaning my windshield with fluid, the wipers worked for about 5 swipes and then just quit. The fluid still sprayed but the wipers refused to come back on. Any suggestions?

Not likely electrical (unless it is a broken wire) as wiper have an automatic reset circuit breaker.

Could be a mechanical bind.
