It might just be air in the cooling system working its way out. Give it a couple more days. The fuel system shouldn't be contaminated from blown heads. If anything else they let some gasket debris fall into the cylinder bores. Did they install new spark plugs? If not, get new ones installed or get the current plug gaps checked. They might have left the plugs in while doing the work and didn't take care where they rested the part down. I'd call them and let them know about the problem, and see what they suggest to do. It might not be their fault, but another problem with the car that was fine earlier, but now that one part has fixed another can easily fail. I would only 'ream' them one, if they tell you that your car's running normally!
