Ford Taurus Along the way, Ford has made some 500 changes to the Taurus, changes that were already scheduled for the mid-cycle freshening of the Five Hundred. The general body shape of the new Taurus is the same as that of the previous Five Hundred, a large, front-wheel-drive family sedan, but almost everything else has changed for the better.

Default Carpet Wet on Drivers Side??

Just bought a 2002 Taurus with 44,000 miles on it. First time out in the rain (mostly parked, not driving) the carpet is wet unders the drivers feet. The car hasn't been in any accidents, there is no musty smell that I would expect if the leak had been happening over time, looked under the IP and no sign of rust or traces of where the leak might be comming from.
Any ideas on where this might be comming from or if there is any history of Taurus leaks in the drivers area??
Thanks!!

Yes, someone posted a recognized problem that is resolved through a Ford technical service bulletin TSB 04-15-3. You can get this from the internet using Google by searching for

Ford TSB 04-15-3

Hope this helps.
