Ford Taurus Along the way, Ford has made some 500 changes to the Taurus, changes that were already scheduled for the mid-cycle freshening of the Five Hundred. The general body shape of the new Taurus is the same as that of the previous Five Hundred, a large, front-wheel-drive family sedan, but almost everything else has changed for the better.

I do not know how the '95 is set up, but it is probably similar to my 2000. The antenna is located on drivers side behind the rear wheel and just under the rear window. The radio rear control unit and antenna motor and drive gear are located in the spare tire compartment. There are a number of mountings to be removed and the nut at the base of the antenna (special tool, but I just used a screwdriver). The assembly is removed from the spare tire compartment with a lot of manoevering.

The gear drive is thin and flexible plastic that coils into a housing. The drive is very poor and subject to failure. You can buy the replacement gear housing or the gear housing and motor. There is a big difference in price. Take yours apart and see what you need. It just may only be grease.

Hope this helps.
