Ford Taurus Along the way, Ford has made some 500 changes to the Taurus, changes that were already scheduled for the mid-cycle freshening of the Five Hundred. The general body shape of the new Taurus is the same as that of the previous Five Hundred, a large, front-wheel-drive family sedan, but almost everything else has changed for the better.

In your first picture you have a broken pad retaining arm. There should be two arms on the pad that holds it to the caliper to stop rattling of the pad, one is broken.

In your second picture, the caliper pins are located in the rubber housings inboard of the caliper. You need a male torx bit to undo the pins to remove the caliper. I do not recall the size required, but they come in sets anyway. If you look from the inboard position at the end of the rubber housings you will see the female torx bit head. It just unscrews and pulls out. Don't forget to clean and lubricate (special brake grease) before re-installing.

Hope this helps.
