Ford Taurus Along the way, Ford has made some 500 changes to the Taurus, changes that were already scheduled for the mid-cycle freshening of the Five Hundred. The general body shape of the new Taurus is the same as that of the previous Five Hundred, a large, front-wheel-drive family sedan, but almost everything else has changed for the better.

Exclamation help please

hello, i have a 92 ford taurus LX W/3.8L engine. it is completely random but the other day, i had driven it about 45 miles at most on a highway and stopped at a convenience store for a soda and chips. i had let the car idle while i was in the store for about 5 minutes max and as soon as i went to get in my car, the car started to shutter and died on me. it wouldnt let me start it back up for about 2-3 minutes and finally it would start just normal and acts like nothing was wrong with it. mechanics say it was an ignition coil but i just installed a new one and it is still doing the same exact thing. any ideas or helpful hints would be greatly appriciated. also i had put new spark plugs and wires on the car so i couldnt be that

Is the cooling fan running when it won't start, but starts fine if the fan is off?

Car may run okay for days, sometimes for only a few minutes.
Will be driving and it just dies.

Don't have a Check Engine light.
Of course, Diagnostics shows nothing wrong.

Have fuel pressure and spark.
I have changed the Ignition Control Module, Coil and Distributor Cap.

Have noticed that it won't start if the Cooling Fan is running.
Doesn't matter that the engine is cool.
If I turn the key and hear the fan, I know it won't start.

the cooling fan dosent really sound consistant with what you are saying but it is completely random. the car will do it usually when it is warmed up and i was beginning to think that it may even be my Mass air flow sensor or even the throttle positioning sensor. maybe even the engine temp sensor where the sensor sends signals for the car to idle down if it thinks it is too hot and can even shut it down. i dont have a check engine light so i doubt its the MAF sensor. and to come and think about it, when i try to turn the car on, the cooling fan may not be on at ignition but as soon as it begins to die, the cooling fan does kick on for a couple of seconds and turns off again, i have even changed the ignition coil and plugs and stuff like u have so maybe there is similarities in the problems.
any help is appriciated.
