Tee a vacuum gage into the EGR valve feed line from the EVR. Unplug the EVR electrical plug and rev the engine a few times. If at any time you get vacuum on the gage, the EVR is leaking through and needs to be replaced.
Try not to replace everything - that gets expensive.
I have the same P0402 code and replaced EGR valve, DPFE sensor, EGR soliniod and still have the same problem and can get the car to pass inspection. I'm thinking it might be a vaccum problem.
Anyone know how do you find the vaccum problem???
