Ford Taurus Along the way, Ford has made some 500 changes to the Taurus, changes that were already scheduled for the mid-cycle freshening of the Five Hundred. The general body shape of the new Taurus is the same as that of the previous Five Hundred, a large, front-wheel-drive family sedan, but almost everything else has changed for the better.

Exclamation engine code p1235???

hey, I recently had my check engine light turn on in my 2000 Ford Taurus 24v. The code as pulled by my mechanic was "Fuel Pump Driver Circuit Out of Range". My mechanic did not know how to go about fixing this and just reset the engine light.

Problem is, that SOMETIMES, my car will have an extremely rough idle, dropping so low that it dies out sometimes. Also while driving it will just lose power completely, sometimes picking right back up, other times dying out. When this happens occasionally it starts back up, other times it takes quite a few tries.

Another issue is that occasionally I have a very jumpy thermostat. The little guy will be jumping all over the place saying I'm burning up when I'm not, and then dropping to normal. This will also happen randomly.

Are these problems related to the engine code? Are these problem related to each other? Seeing as how my mechanic didn't know what to do with this code, anyone have any help or suggestions?
