Default 92 Tempo bogs on takeoff

I just picked up a 1992 Tempo (4 cylinder, automatic) and I'm having a problem with it. Occasionally, only in city driving it will bog when starting out (from an intersection for example) and seem like it's going to quit unless you very slowly give it gas when you start out. I've always driven VW diesels so this fuel injection stuff is totally new to me. The check engine light was on when I bought it but it has since gone out. Other than that it seems to run ok and the fuel mileage doesn't seem too bad, around 30 mpg. Any ideas?

The plugs don't look great so I'm going to replace them ASAP. As far as the wires and filters I'm going to give the guy I bought it from a call and see when they were replaced last. I already put a bottle of fuel injector cleaner through it. I've just noticed another thing the last couple days. If you rev it up quick, the RPMs dont come back down quickly like they should. They will slowly drop (takes 2 or 3 seconds) to around 1200 then quickly drop to 950 or so. Any idea what might be causing that?

I finally got around to changing the plugs and it made a huge difference. The previous owner had AC Delco plugs in it and I put Autolite in it this time. I was talking to the previous owner and he mentioned that he had to clean the throttle body with carburetor cleaner fairly often and it always stopped the bogging. I'll try that next. I still haven't found the right size torx bit for the MAF sensor though.
