1989 Ford Tempo GL Service Engine Soon Light I have a 1989 Ford Tempo GL 3 Speed automatic with 125k on it.
I've always had a problem with it cutting out when you stepped on the gas. it would dip before idling up and you could make it cut out completely by doing that.
So, I cleaned all the carbon out of the IAC and from the throttle body using carb cleaner.
When I started it, it ran a lot better but it gave the [Service Engine Soon] light and when I put it in Reverse, it died out. I started it again, let it run for 10 minutes, and ran through the gears with better success. However, the Service Engine Light is STILL ON.
Any ideas? |
