Ford Tempo The Ford Tempo is an American-built two-door coupe and four-door sedan produced by the Ford Company from 1984 to 1994. Unhappy Oil leak

I have a 92 tempo with a 2.3 5-speed and it leaks oil. I think that it is the pan gasket but I can't find one. My dad said that he had a tempo that was gasketless.Could this be the case on my 92?

You can't find the leak or you can't find the oil pan gasket?

I can't find the gasket at the parts stores. Ilooked on the websites of 2 or 3 places and came up with nothing.

You need to find whats leaking before you go buying parts!

What I can tell they just used RTV around the oil pan from the factory. Why don't you call your local Ford dealer and ask em if they have an oil pan gasket.

I think it only leaks when its running but it doesn't seem to be coming out of the valve cover. I can see the oil drip to the ground and the oil pan is covered with oil. I'm almost positive it's the pan gasket.

Buy a can of Engine Degreaser.

Follow instructions.

make sure the area is clean and start the car, this will show exactly where the leak is now since the engine will be clean.

I just cleaned up a few oil leaks from my Tempo one of the main ones was the oil pressure sending unit.Another was the Valve cover, Do a good clean with the degreaser described above and a power washer, then go for a drive about 10-15 minutes will be enough to see where it is coming from.
