Ford Tempo The Ford Tempo is an American-built two-door coupe and four-door sedan produced by the Ford Company from 1984 to 1994. It was the successor to the Ford Fairmont, and was replaced in 1994 by the Ford Contour. The Tempo was part of a rejuvenation by Ford to offer more environmentally friendly, fuel efficient, and more modern styled models to compete with the imports.

Question Headlight Dimmer/Blinker Switch Removal

hey people, im new here. i tried searching but didnt get any results for changing the headlight dimmer and/or blinker switch. the car belongs to my neighbor, and im not sure what year it is exactly, but it looks like this (literally, color and all!):



i figure that there are some screw on the bottom side of the column cover that i will have to take out to get to it all. from there i dont really know what to expect.. ive never owned or worked on older ford cars. from searching around, i think the part i need looks like this:



can anyone give me any advise about doing this job? thanks!

its easy
remove the steering colium upper and lower pannel all the scrues are accesed from under the steering colium pannel remove the gauge console enclosure "pannel" 2 scrues on top then pop of the two lower black squares on either side of that pannel only on the sides of the console youl find two more scrues.......the switch is mounted by two star bolts possibly hez i cant remeber that far.

thanks alot man. i figured it would be fairly easy, seeing as how its an older car. i just wasnt sure what to expect. from what you said, it sounds like i have everything i need to get it done... a screwdriver or two and some hex or torx bits. thanks again for the help!
