Ford TempoThe Ford Tempo is an American-built two-door coupe and four-door sedan produced by the Ford Company from 1984 to 1994. It was the successor to the Ford Fairmont, and was replaced in 1994 by the Ford Contour. The Tempo was part of a rejuvenation by Ford to offer more environmentally friendly, fuel efficient, and more modern styled models to compete with the imports.
The car will miss when it gets between 40-60 mph. Also it seems like when its on a small slope down it will stall, than take a minute for me to start it back up. It's been stalling like this for a while, but very rarely and only on certain inclines, the missing seems to be something that came up quite recently. The only thing I had changed was the Throttle voltage because the car had a high idle, this was done at a shop. Not sure how old the wires are plugs are but that is what i'm going to check. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Would like to add that I have replaced wires and noticed that one was in pretty bad shape and had rust falling out of it. This may have solved the missing problem but I will need to drive it a bit more to find out. Would also like to add that there is a shuddering from when I shift from reverse to neutral, or neutral to drive and vice versa.
