Ford TempoThe Ford Tempo is an American-built two-door coupe and four-door sedan produced by the Ford Company from 1984 to 1994. It was the successor to the Ford Fairmont, and was replaced in 1994 by the Ford Contour. The Tempo was part of a rejuvenation by Ford to offer more environmentally friendly, fuel efficient, and more modern styled models to compete with the imports.
I was driving it and turned into a side street to turn around. When I put it in reverse,it wouldnt do anything, nothing.I then tried drive and the other gears,it wouldnt do anything.
This car was mostly a daily driver and seemed to be doing fine,it did act funny when topping a hill at a normal speed but it seemed to be doing fine.
If there was any slipping it wasnt something that I noticed.
mine did the same thing while i was driving. i pulled up to a stop light and it wouldnt go anywhere. cv shaft for sure. i have two if u want them, i can mail them or if ur in the houston area, i can drive to meet you.
i am new and dont know how to post a question, i am having problems with my tempo.
1994, i was told it could be the governor sensor, but could it be anything else. speedometor broke, speed sensor replaced, a new motor was put in this car back in april, it revs when in drive, all other gears are fine. i need my car, can anyone help?
Mine just quit like last Sunday. Transmission place thought it was the pump shaft broke but when they removed the transmission and looked it was fine. Getting one from a junk or recycled parts place but has been a week and my generator for this storm is in the trunk of the car. Luckily we didn't loose power for very long.
