Ford Tempo The Ford Tempo is an American-built two-door coupe and four-door sedan produced by the Ford Company from 1984 to 1994. It was the successor to the Ford Fairmont, and was replaced in 1994 by the Ford Contour. The Tempo was part of a rejuvenation by Ford to offer more environmentally friendly, fuel efficient, and more modern styled models to compete with the imports.

Post Window washer pump

ok I have a 1991 Ford Tempo 2.3L the Window washer motor runs but I get no fluid out. I would like to know where the pump is or where the hose is I can not seem to find the hose.

Thank you

Under hood, passenger side, front engine area, mounted in bottom of washer bottle

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

Disconnect the negative battery cable.

Remove the washer reservoir as outline in the reservoir removal procedure.

Remove the wire harness from the washer motor.

With the reservoir removed from the vehicle, grasp the motor firmly, turn back and forth to loosen the unit in the seal, and pull out.

Check the seal between the motor and the reservoir, and replace if necessary.

To install:

Lubricate the washer pump seal with a dry lubricant like powdered graphite. Install the washer pump by aligning the projection on the motor end cap with the slot in the reservoir and slide in until tight.

Plug the electrical connector into the washer motor.

Place the reservoir in the engine compartment and secure with the 2 retaining screws and metal strap clipped to the cowl and firewall panel, if equipped.

Connect the negative battery cable.

Check the washer system for proper operation.

Take hose off where it goes to wipers/sprayers, does it run free to the sprayers? We "used to have" a row of Pine trees along our driveway and the sprayers on my daughters car would always get clogged with pine sap. Reservore could also be clogged with dirt and crud.
