Ford TempoThe Ford Tempo is an American-built two-door coupe and four-door sedan produced by the Ford Company from 1984 to 1994. It was the successor to the Ford Fairmont, and was replaced in 1994 by the Ford Contour. The Tempo was part of a rejuvenation by Ford to offer more environmentally friendly, fuel efficient, and more modern styled models to compete with the imports.
I have a 92 4banger with a automatic in it. My problem is that in the mornings and if the car sits for a couple of hours, when I start it it runs real rough and as I go to leave I make it about 100 feet and the car will fall flat on its face. Then as I am driving and pull up to a stop light the car will surge and almost die. I have replaced the fuel filter and that is about all I have done. I did have a friend use a diagnostic on it and it gave me code 33 EGR. Not the problem!! What is it and how do I fix it. I have dealt mostly with old hotrods and this computer/vaccumlines/fuel injection is kicking my butt. Please help.
