Ford Tempo The Ford Tempo is an American-built two-door coupe and four-door sedan produced by the Ford Company from 1984 to 1994. It was the successor to the Ford Fairmont, and was replaced in 1994 by the Ford Contour. The Tempo was part of a rejuvenation by Ford to offer more environmentally friendly, fuel efficient, and more modern styled models to compete with the imports.

Default !991 tempo ?????'s please

Hello guys and gals-

Well, we HAD a creampuff-My grandmother passed and handed down her 91 Tempo to my son. Right now it is sitting with 41k original miles-
We had just recently flushed the cooling system, changed the transmission fluid-replaced the valve cover gasket, new rubber all the way around, and replaced a rusted wheel so the hub caps would all stay on. We also repainted the peeling window pillars-it was looking and running pretty dog gone well.

Now the bad-
Evidently she was hot--(the girl he was watching instead of the road)

He was not paying attention to the road and hit a mercury marquis right in the rear. Nobody was hurt thankfully-
The damage to the front is pretty severe-but since we have no $$ into it really-it seems repairing it would be the best option.
Looks like we need a hood-grill-radiator-condensor-and headlights-

What years would work for parts? Are 92 model year parts usable for this?

ehy all the parts 92-94 will work on your car, to keep the same apeareance.
if you want can bolt right on the 88-91 front pannel parts but it has a diff look.
you coulde ven put on the first gen 84-88 parts but it would look terrible.
start witht the bumper and then unbolt the headliner pannel. the fender might have to come off two if you wnana align it right.
if you need more drop it in.

Awesome!
Thanks-
We have the car disassembled now-but i appears the front core support is bent-in fat, It is bent badly.
I have the car for sale, but we do have a body shop guy who is going to drop by and give us an estimate for straightening it out.

thats nothing ive had mine wraped around the valvecover, street racing gettin a lil otua hand and re-aranged the ass end of a late model gmc sierra, with worn out tires.
just pryed it out and banged it flat. lmao ive even rolled this thing 5 times....can you tell.
what you speak of's main job is the radiator support and hood latch function.
you can literly remove the whole bar and nothing will happen to it, the cars unibody is remarklby stronge and well built.
bend it back and as straight as possible and re-assemble, then look closely at the pic in my sig can you tell......

if a shop does it get ready for alot of cost.
and that bar has 0 function on veichle aligment on these cars at least
bro there was at one time this working site called TempoTopaz.com :: Tempo Topaz Car Club of North America well the dick hole webmaster f-ed it up and me and a couple guys founded TTOA - Tempo & Topaz Owner Association weve got more information than you can take in on these cars
felel free to join up or shoot me a email or msn @ cronicus2@hotmail.com if ya need in debth info.

Thats not quite right, if you have a 91, you need parts from and 88-91. Everything front end related is the same between 2 and 4 door models besides the fenders. Radiator support isnt real hard to bend back, my lincoln mark 8 had the radiator support touching the engine when ny sister wrecked it, I bent it back and put the car back together, you cant tell it was ever in an accident.

Also the 88-91 mercury topaz will bolt right on as well. Check out your local junk yards, these cars are pretty common, finding parts is quite easy. My fiance found a site where i can replace the front fenders for $30/piece. they're unfinished, but it's not that difficult to finish them either. I"ll ask him what the site was again if you're interested.

Yes I am!!
We have decided to keep it-
it will be a warm weather project for my youngest son. I think we will try the "come along to the tree" method of pulling the front back out-
