Ford ThunderBird Ford thought they'd take their own stab at the nostalgia business. There are quite a few last-century icons that wear the blue oval. For a revival subject, why not use a car famous enough to have been the subject of Beach Boys songs, starred in George Lucas movies, and has been gone long enough to be missed? Why not indeed. In 2002, the Thunderbird was reborn.

Unhappy Oil pump problems

I have a 1995 Ford thunderbird Lx, about 2 months ago my oil pressure gauge would go to no pressure whenever i made a left turn. It kept doing that getting more frequent as time progressed. Then all of the sudden the gauge was always on the no pressure symbol. I do not know what it could be and am trying to get an idea of what the possabilities are... i thought it might be the oil pump or a sensor..? Any feedback would be appreciated

Checkoil level and try changing the oil pressure sending unit.

The oil level is normal. How much does the oil pressure sending unit cost?

Check your drain plug, also. I have a 93 T-bird LX that the oil gauge did the same thing. Come to find out that my drain plug worked its way loose somehow and it drained off slowly. The last time I had done an oil change, I didn't over- or under-tighten the drain plug. Come to find out I was 2 1/2 quarts down from a 5 quart capacity. I check my drain plug frequently now because of that.
