Ford ThunderBird Ford thought they'd take their own stab at the nostalgia business. There are quite a few last-century icons that wear the blue oval. For a revival subject, why not use a car famous enough to have been the subject of Beach Boys songs, starred in George Lucas movies, and has been gone long enough to be missed? Why not indeed. In 2002, the Thunderbird was reborn.

Unhappy 90 v6 supercoupe odd start-up problem.

Went and started up my car to warm up. Came back out and it was dead. Would not start back up, tried turning over but would'nt. Eventually figured out it would start but only in neutral. With this issue came another with it idling horribly. It's idling below 1 rpm and will die unless gas is applied.

I don't know what could be causing these problems, it had'nt had idle issues before this starting in only neutral thing arrised.

Anyone got some insight as to what the deal is? Thanks in advance for your time.

Red face

Not sure about the filter, I was guessing that myself. Bought the car 6 months ago. Odd thing though, it'll start up in park now. Same idle problem till warmed up and even then it idles under one, borderline choking out. Don't have a neutral safety switch.

Also don't know if this ties into it at all but a light on my "automatic light" dials which tells me the lights are on works... never has until now and I haven't played around with any electrical with the car.

BTW sexy T-Bird you have there, what's it get 10 mpg
