Ford ThunderBird Ford thought they'd take their own stab at the nostalgia business. There are quite a few last-century icons that wear the blue oval. For a revival subject, why not use a car famous enough to have been the subject of Beach Boys songs, starred in George Lucas movies, and has been gone long enough to be missed? Why not indeed. In 2002, the Thunderbird was reborn.

Default Might want to check before lowering

I just had my rears springs replaced ('96 T-Bird, 127K) because the dealer couldn't align the wheels, because the rear camber couldn't be set due to sagging rear springs. (The T-Bird has four wheel independent suspension,) This was after an independent shop set the front alignment, and then told me there was "really no way to set the rear camber on those cars." Their own printout showed them way out of spec.

Not sure how lowered springs would take that into consideration - to me, "lowered" is the same as sagging - since it changes the relationship of the body to the suspension (and the T-bird differential is bolted to the body), but I'm far from an expert on this.

Might want to ask a Ford alignment pro who knows T-Birds if they will be able to set rear wheel alignment with lowered springs. I suggest you talk to a Ford dealer who has a tech who knows the T-Bird - as I said - I found out the hard way that independent alignment shops often don't know the T-Bird suspension - and the shop I was sent to was by my usual Ford dealer (they sent all their cars there.) Needless to say, I changed dealers.
