Ford ThunderBird Ford thought they'd take their own stab at the nostalgia business. There are quite a few last-century icons that wear the blue oval. For a revival subject, why not use a car famous enough to have been the subject of Beach Boys songs, starred in George Lucas movies, and has been gone long enough to be missed? Why not indeed. In 2002, the Thunderbird was reborn.

Default How to reset Check Engine Light?

Just picked up a 89 Thunderbird LX. Before I got it the car was parked for about 8-months at the Store I work at. It was randomly started and driven about 1 to 2 times monthly and ran great. But last week the check engine light came on. What would be the cause of this since the car was hardly driven? And how do you reset the check engine light?......Thanks.

had a similar situation w/ my 95 and auto-zone was able to read and reset the check engine light. as for the problem, it sounds like there is water in the fuel. you might have to add a bottle or two of dry gas to get the water out of the tank. worked for me.

some of the cel's will turn off automatically after the problem is resolved..however ive had some cel's stay on until reset...to do this just disconnect the NEG. battery cable for 15-20 min...this will reset the computer and turn off the cel...but resolve ur problem first by having the code read for free at autozone as stated above.
