Ford ThunderBird Ford thought they'd take their own stab at the nostalgia business. There are quite a few last-century icons that wear the blue oval. For a revival subject, why not use a car famous enough to have been the subject of Beach Boys songs, starred in George Lucas movies, and has been gone long enough to be missed? Why not indeed. In 2002, the Thunderbird was reborn.

Question muffler

Hi all. Been awhile since I posted but have checked in now and then to see what's up. Here goes. 95 4.6 w/"dual" exhaust. I have removed the resonators and replaced them with straight pipes. Has a little rumble that's nice to hear. Question: Muffler is starting to show age and before I replace it, I was wondering if I could do the same thing as I did with the resonators? Still have the factory cats on. Would they act as mufflers? Thanks for any help.

Definately gonna give it some more "sound" but I don't think will hurt. You may want to check your city/states noise laws. Some of the local PD get happy when they hear a loud vehicle coming. More donut $$
GOOD LUCK

IMO a loud old car sounds like a junker.
Loud is nice on a cammed carbed engine.
Loud on a smoothe engine is just loud and junk.

That's my opinion... and I'm stikin to it.

Wasn't going to do this as a permanent set-up. Just wanted to try it out & see how it rolls. Oh BTW taz, since I'm one of "them" I'll get a pass if pulled over. On the way back from A-Zone with a new muffler, I'll stop at Dunkin for a cup of java and a glazed.....I'll tell 'em to put it on your tab, 'K?:
