Ford ThunderBird Ford thought they'd take their own stab at the nostalgia business. There are quite a few last-century icons that wear the blue oval. For a revival subject, why not use a car famous enough to have been the subject of Beach Boys songs, starred in George Lucas movies, and has been gone long enough to be missed? Why not indeed. In 2002, the Thunderbird was reborn.

Default wheels

I have a 1966 Ford Thunderbird that I am restoring. The tires look brand new, they still have the small round bits of rubber around the tire, so I know they are hardly used. However, the car sat for a long time and the sidewalls of the tires have small cracks, so I don't know how old they are. They could be 20 years old for all I know. Since I will obviously need tires, which will cost me well over $400 I have been looking on Craigslist and noticed a number of mag wheels for sale and many have new tires. These are in my price range. What I am wondering is the lug nut pattern for the Thunderbird, or just what to look for when on Craigslist? I know the center hole differs on many tires.

IMO, I'd stick with the stock wheels and hubcaps. Just get some new tires....
