Ford ThunderBird Ford thought they'd take their own stab at the nostalgia business. There are quite a few last-century icons that wear the blue oval. For a revival subject, why not use a car famous enough to have been the subject of Beach Boys songs, starred in George Lucas movies, and has been gone long enough to be missed? Why not indeed. In 2002, the Thunderbird was reborn.

Question heater fan does not work

Help! 95 t-bird 4.6 w/climate control. Driving to work this a/m and the fan stops. Unplugged and jumped it to the batt.--works fine. Checked fuses under the dash--all ok. Checked the high capacity fuses under the hood (by the battery)--again all ok. Am I missing something? There is a part where the blower motor plugs in that has what I can best describe as fins on one side. While trying to run fan this part gets hot to the touch. No help from dealer(books only go back 10 yrs.). Heading to library to see if there are any manuals. If anyone has had this problem I could use some help. Thanks.

That would be the blower motor controller and it is the problem more often then not.

I am wondering if I could have had this problem the morning my car caught fire. My windows didn't want to defrost, but the blower did come on.

Thanks P_S. Upon further research, two other t-bird gurus came up w/ the same conclusion. A new one is avail.($130.00), but I found one in a junk yard that is only $5.00 if I take it off myself. Might be worth it if it works--if not, only wasted an Abe and a little labor. Will let you know.

phantom_smack, you were right. Blower motor controler was bad. Put in the one from the salvage yard and it works fine. Actually, the fan seems to run faster than before. Thanks for your help
