Ford ThunderBird Ford thought they'd take their own stab at the nostalgia business. There are quite a few last-century icons that wear the blue oval. For a revival subject, why not use a car famous enough to have been the subject of Beach Boys songs, starred in George Lucas movies, and has been gone long enough to be missed? Why not indeed. In 2002, the Thunderbird was reborn.

Where can I get the chip to turn the electronic speed limit off on my car?
I read the 140HP v6 version can do 130 MPH. I tested my car and it is electronically limited to 108

ill second this, the m fer does good work! i dont know if the v6 has an electronic governor on it or mechanical...this is what tops ur speed out at 108. if its electronic, lonnie can cure the problem.

considering im am an x track guy im gonna have to say this just because, there is no reason to need to go that fast. in a quarter mile ud be luck to see a 3.8 liter hit the 90 mph mark. even with a 12 second pass ur still looking at under what the governor would allow. if ur looking to hit 130 in a quarter mile just so u know my last trip to the track i ran a 9.98 and i topped out just under 140 mph.

in my humble opinion, your thinking about wasting ur money. i can think of many better ways to spend the 300 plus it sgonna cost for a chip that will make ur car run faster, cleaner, and more efficiently.
just my .02

yes do not do any mods to your current 3.8l v6. just keep it running and do not run the hell out of it! it will blow headgaskets eventually. Get yourself a 302, 351, or a 32v 4.6, or heck even a 16v 4.6 is better than a 3.8. The 3.8 will also need the rear differential changed to the 8.8 b/c you have a 7.5 inch rear diff. just drive it. buy another tbird to work on. like me, ive got 3.
94 -white 4.6
95- blue 4.6
96 red 4.6
