Ford Torino Most Torinos were conventional cars, and generally the most popular models were the 4-door sedans and 4-door hardtops. However, Ford produced some high performance versions of the Torino by fitting them with large powerful engines, such as the 428 CID and 429 CID "Cobra-Jet" engines. These cars are classified as muscle cars.

Default bigger valves on dove-c heads?

Just got a set of dove-c heads for my 73 429 that i bought for my 72 ford gran torino. I got the dove heads because i heard the heads on 73 were no good for any respectable performance. My question is, is there enough room for bigger vavles? It looks pretty crowded in the combustion chamber to me,(not a professional engine builder). just curious
thanks for reading

Hi,i believe this is room for bigger valves, check machine shops for that, those DOVE heads should work fine,i belive they have smaller combustion chambers/larger valves? which will raise your compression a bit,and will work better than 73 heads
