Ford Torino Most Torinos were conventional cars, and generally the most popular models were the 4-door sedans and 4-door hardtops. However, Ford produced some high performance versions of the Torino by fitting them with large powerful engines, such as the 428 CID and 429 CID "Cobra-Jet" engines. These cars are classified as muscle cars.

Default drum brake fiasco

hey everyone, im new to this forum and whatnot, but i have a 71 fourdoor torino 500. ive been having some brake trouble and oil leakage. for the oil leak im figuring i just need a new valve cover, since the one on there is pretty old and missing a bolt. but as for the brakes, i have drum brakes and i noticed that a lot of people want to convert theirs to disk brakes. the drum brakes on there now work but after some pumping on the pedal and some praying that they wont lock up. it seems they only come into effect on the last 2 inches of the pedal push. im not sure i want to convert it to disk since im not very mechanically inclined nor financially stable. but i was wondering instead of converting it, would just getting new drums do the trick? i dont live in a real hilly area, i just need something to stop me.
