Ford Windstar Introduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.

Hotshot here. Go here and look up the Exhaust and find the size. Since you didnt list any vehicle I would guess from 1/4 inch to a 6 inch exhaust depending on what you need exhaust for.

Sorry but I couldnt read your mind and your name here really doesnt mean you have a 2002 Windstar. Mine is Mark V but I dont own a Mark V, never did. First Windstar 02 could just be your first Windstar you owned was a 2002.

Next time please post a year, engine size and application!

Walker Exhaust Solutions From The Industry Leader

I know my 1998 Windstar has a 2 inch exhaust.

You'be been under there; why didn't you measure it? Wrap a tape measure around it, and divide by 3.14 . For the mathematically challenged, there are tape measures with diameters printed, too.

Reminds me: the lottery is a tax on people who failed math in school.

I don't own a garage so I'm currently using my mother's whose house in a different town. My son was born this month and I just started a new job so I have no time whatsoever. I did measure it but I can't remember if it was 2.25 or 2.5. Yeah it is a 2002 v6 3.8L.

that's wonderful, those two measurements are the two most probable sizes that the pipes are.... anyway

Mark> I loved your response, you crazy kid...

Jon> I use walker alot too, but they only list part numbers for expensive OEM exhaust parts. They make good stuff but lots of $$$... Become more resourceful, ebay, google, other places are great for listing dimensions.

Now to aid "firstwindstar02" It all depends on where along the exhaust system you need parts. Measuring the exhaust yourself is obviously the best way to do it. (Thanks GreybeardAv) The exhaust system might change pipe diameter in different locations. I know most auto stores carry these big books that hold information about cars, you can have one of those guys look up the pipe sizes.

If you are in fact talking about the flexible piece the pipe diameter is 2.5", but down near the tailpipe is 2.25" or maybe even 1.5". My advice to you is to get your butt out your chair and get under your van and measure, and if you complain about the rather rude responses you've been getting I have one thing to say, next time ask nicely.

NO jackal, take a look at the pictures, they show how big the pipe is at points, great for picking out clamps, and seldom did I have a customer come back and get different sized clamps when we looked at the pictures.

Thanks for all the help guys. Was just getting a lil frustrated and it is MY problem. Well what happened is the all the bolts and the whole assembly is rusted to sh!t and I cut through one of the flexible mesh pieces to get it apart. So my plan is to just buy a new flex piece of ebay and clamp or weld it in. I'm guessing since it says 2 inch clamp that the outer piece i put on should be 2 1/4 to fit around the 2 inch pipe.

eBay Motors: Ford Windstar Inner Braid Exhaust Flex Pipe - OE Design (item 190183743746 end time Jan-13-08 05:40:06 PST)

it says inner diameter 2 1/4 does that mean that this piece will fit?

eBay Motors: 2.25" x 6" Exhaust Flex Pipe Tube Stainless Steel (item 130185299717 end time Jan-03-08 15:08:50 PST)

or should i get a 2 1/2?

heres a pic illustrating what I did. the red line represents the cut. I didn't do anything other than cutting through the mesh. I need to join the two parts together with that product above.
