Ford Windstar Introduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.

Default Trouble Filling Gas Tank

I have problems filling the gas tank. No matter how SLOW I try to pump, the gas backs up in the filler tube and causes the dispenser to kick off. This happens no matter what the level is in the gas tank.

It is frustrating and can be dangerous as many times fuel will spray out of the filler.

Anyone else experience this or have suggestions on how to repair?

Thanks.

Sounds like you got a clog in the pipe or something got disconnected blocking the inlet for the tank. Does this happen at all Gas stations?

I don't get it why people always expect a old vehicle that breaks down to always be covered under some warranty?

If your exhaust tip is larger than your cylinder bore, then you are a Ricer.

Yes, it happens at all gas stations. It does sound like something is clogging it. I thought maybe someone else has experienced this with a Windstar.

Default Fill Vent Tube

I had an experience like yours on a GM product that turned out to be a clogged fill vent tube.

Yes I have a problem filling my gas tank too. Since gas cost 4.00 a gallon. It's gas or smokes.
