Ford Windstar Introduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.

You may have a leaking line or hose somewhere.

Did you bench bleed the new Master cylinder?

Bleeding brakes.....
Start at right rear, left rear, right front and finish at the left front.

If you did all of this you have a bad leak or air in the lines.

No ABS wont cause this unless the ABS is leaking.

OK I think I see what is wrong. Your calipers and wheel cylinders will move when you press the brake, this will cause a low pedal, it will never be high. If you block all the lines the brake fluid will go nowhere and try to compress and give an instant hard pedal that is high.

You have no problems. Put it all back together and you will be fine.

This is normal symptoms you are getting. I just did my brakes this summer and your post just triggered my memory of the pedal feeling low.

do you have drum brakes at the back. if you do make sure they are adjusted up you want alittle drag on the rear drums.

Aren't the rears self-adjusting?
