Ford Windstar Introduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.

Question 1995 Windstar EGR Question

First the specs: 1995 w/3.8L LX model.

The observation: The EGR has a milled hole in the side that is allowing exhaust to escape. While the check engine idiot light hasn't come on, it just doesn't seem correct. I have attached a pic that shows the hole.

I replaced this in '02, about 100M ago, and am thinking it need replaced again. I went to the local NAPA and the EGR that they listed for that engine didn't look like mine. If memory serves, I had a problem the last time I replaced it because it was a '94 part. The NAPA dealer confirmed the part number was a '94 and he pulled up a pic of one that looked identicle. The numbers I wrote down at the time I replaced it were:
F4SE 9D475 A4A and F4DE 9D460 A4A, and then below that is either 1375 or B75 (can't read my own handwriting)

The engine seems to run fine, though city gas mileage is around 15-16 (ugh). Should I replace it? If so, should I use the same that is there or use the one listed as the current valve?
