Ford Windstar Introduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.

I've got a 2003 SEL Average 13 to 15 Mpg around town and 26 to 28 Highway. Don't feel this is to bad. Of course I use the Cruise control on the highway.
I'm pretty conservative running around 2000 RPM for a 63 Mph highway speed.
How does this stack up with other 03 SEL owners ?

i used to get 21 in the summer, 18-19 in winter, with mixed 80% highway/20% city.... that was when the van was newer, about a year before I sold it, right around when I sold it it would average 18.5mpg in the summer (my guess would be a bad EGR valve or fouled plugs causing poor gas milage)

2002 Windstar SE 3.8 sold at about 80,000miles

o2 sensors measure the mixture coming from the exhaust ports in your engine. It then sends the information to the engine computer to regulate the flow of and air and fuel. If there is a leak in your emissions system it will send an incorrect code to the computer via the o2 sensors giving you a rough idle among other things.
