Ford Windstar Introduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.

Default Engine/Tranny back in. Doing Flushes...Need some advice

I just added the Prestone Super Cleaner and the correct level of water. I'm gonna follow the directions and drive around for about an hour and then flush it out with the Prestone Super Flush. I also bought the flushing system from Prestone for like 6 bucks. It hooks up to some of the cooling lines and I can attach a garden hose and flush the system out. All the literature and diagrams I have are crude and not very detailed. Could someone walk me through this..I don't wanna screw up my cooling system.

On another note..One Man Brake Bleed? Is this doable? I seen this product in Auto Zone and I don't wanna just "flush" all my money down the toilet on this beast. Should I just go with the 2 man common bleed scenario or is the One Man Brake Bleed actually doable?

How much do people usually charge for a fuel filter change?

Pump water in, keep it going till its clean, and then put your hoses back on, thats all to flushing it.

The one man brake bleeder aint bad either, personally I just took hose and ran it down to a bottle with brake fluid and keep adding fluid and pumping untill the bottle had enough brake fluid to keep air from entering back into the calipers and cylinders and the system was bled out.

I meant back flushing...Where do I attach the kit? I don't want to remove the thermostat.

Well if you want to do a thorough job you probably will have too, then undo your heater hoses and run water through those too.

Go through the upper radiator hose through the block, through the radiator, and through heater hoses.

Remove the lower hose and stuff your garden hose up it, tturn the water on and start the van, hold the lower hose tight so all the water from the garden hose doesnt leak out.

This will flush the engine and the radiator.

Doing that however will flush the system in the way that coolant flows. In order to back flush the system you will need to go through the top radiator hose.
