Ford Windstar Introduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.

Default 2000 Windstar weird electrical stuff

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

While driving, the abs and traction control lights came on. Then all the dash lights started to flicker on and off. The odometer and the messege center went off. When I got home, i turd the car, and tried to restart it. It made that cliclikng noise like the battery was bad (just replaced it in October). I cleaned off the positive post, and let it sit. This morning, it started fine. About a 1/2 mile down the road, the symptoms started again. I got home, and the same thing happened with clicking noises. All of the gauges went wacky (speedo, tach, oil needles went sweeping back and forth).

Does anyone have a clue?

Thanks

Default Weird electrical problems

My 2000 windstar had similar symptoms. The cruise control had shorted out and the Brake pressure sensor had shorted out replaced both after diagnostics and parts and labor, over $1500.
