Ford Windstar Introduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.

Default Auxiliary Transmission for Towing

I just bought a bolt on hitch and I want to get a good auxiliary transmission cooler. What is a good auxiliary tranny cooler that is moderately priced and will bolt right up to my transmission?

40.00 for the largest towing cooler for a car or van at napa. ive installed it on my 98 windstar when i started having tranny issues. i tow a 2200 lb dry weight pop up so loaded its around 3000 lbs .i have about 133.000miles on the van and installed the cooler at 75.000 miles because the tranny was acting up.so far so good . no problems yet with the tranny .i installed it on the front of the radiator for better coolling.

It was pretty straightforward? What is the best way to tap into the return lines?

I really wish I knew what kind of cooler I have on my 98 windstar. I jad it onstalled with my rebuild, 150,000 miles ago, and when I tow with it I ussually tow anywhere between 3000-6000 pounds, plus a crew of 4 of 5. The van is really strong, and no issues with the transmission since the rebuild. Except I believe I snapped the output shaft (not the cv joints) because I abuse my van.
