Ford Windstar Introduced in the mid-1990s, the front-wheel-drive Ford Windstar minivan campaigned with an emphasis on, and reputation for, safety. And in the hotly contested family minivan market of the time, that was an especially solid piece of ground to be on. As long as buyers didn't need to haul adults in back on a regular basis, the Windstar served a family's needs just fine.

The van runs well. It has just over 68,000 miles.

p0171 indicates a o2 sensor fault code if engine runs well it is probibly in the o2 sensor, just replace the o2 sensor and clear code they say they last about 70,000 miles

Always replace the sensors in pairs when they have lots of miles on them. The Windstar has 2 O2 sensors.

If your exhaust tip is larger than your cylinder bore, then you are a Ricer.

O2 Sensors. Got it. I'll let you all know how it went after I replace them both. Thanks for the quick response.

You could just test them prior to shelling out the money and have the possibility of throwing out good sensors.

P0171 and P0174 ( you will probably have this code soon being related to the same problem) is not related with the O Sensor but with the intake Isolator bolts, common issue on the 1999 to 2003 models 3.8. Take a look on the following link: 2000 Ford Windstar (Codes 171 and 174)
